Start with a map, mark out the territory we think is most promising then focus our scrutiny there. We needn't comb every inch of land.

I don't see why we shouldn't take both, and make the most of the opportunity to surveil the territory. You're light enough to ride horseback behind me, or Hugo, and leave Artichoke to fly high and out of sight if need be.
